One of the most classic and loved dishes of Italian cuisine, “Polpette con sugo di pomodoro” – meatballs with tomato sauce – are as delicious as they are easy to prepare. Simply mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and parsley in a bowl. (Optional ingredients include Parmigiano/Pecorino cheese, minced garlic, and oregano.) Shape by hand into balls of desired size and then either pan fry before adding tomato sauce or cook directly in hot tomato sauce (I prefer the later).
