“Cicchetti” are small snacks or side dishes (similar to Spanish “tapas”) served throughout Venice in traditional “bàcari” (bars). Ranging from seafood concoctions to “polpette” (fried meatballs) to “crostini” and “tramezzini” (triangular white bread sandwiches), these small nibbles are cheap and delicious. They are best paired with a small glass of wine, called an “ombra,” or an Aperol spritz. Buon appetito!
