Loggia Dei Lanzi

Formerly known as the “Loggia della Signoria,” the three-arched structure next to the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, Italy, was built between 1376 and 1382. While originally built to house the assemblies of the people and host public ceremonies, it was later transformed into an outdoor sculpture gallery by the Medici dukes. Today, it is still home to original masterpieces such as Giambologna’s “Abduction of the Sabine Women,” and Cellini’s “Perseus with the Head of Medusa.” Buona visita!
