"Virgin and Child with Young St. John" by Botticelli

Located at the Cleveland Museum of Art, this beautiful tondo was most likely intended for a domestic setting and was painted when Botticelli was at the height of his artistic powers. While the hands of assistants are certainly present in the work, the faces, poses, and diaphanous veils are all signature elements of the master’s hand. Buona visione!
