This unfinished marble relief is located in the Royal Academy of Arts in London and is the only Michelangelo sculpture in Great Britain. Depicting the Madonna, Child, and infant St. John the Baptist in a tondo format, the relief was carved shortly after Michelangelo completed the “David” statue and was most likely intended for a private home.
