Porto Flavia is a sea harbor built directly into the side of a cliff located on the southwestern coast of Sardinia. Constructed in 1923, it is an unmatched monument of industrial archaeology, consisting of a giant tunnel system carved straight through a mountain cliff allowing ships to conveniently load up on metals. The harbor is named after Flavia Vecelli, the daughter of the harbor’s engineer and designer Cesare Vecelli. Buona visione!
