Located in the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, FL, the “Building of a Palace” was painted in the 15th century by Cosimo Rosselli. The painting depicts an unusual but extremely detailed image of palace construction, including workers, tools, and various building practices. Commissioned by the Stone and Wood Cutters Guild of Florence, the painting is documented as being owned by the Medici family in the 17th century. Buona visione!
