"Working Space" by Frank Stella

It is a pretty amazing thing to look at an artist through the eyes of another artist. In this book, modern American artist Frank Stella claimed that the immediacy of Caravaggio’s theatrical picture spaces marked a turning point in the history of European painting. He also thought that the Baroque artist’s style could inspire “a new pictoriality” in modern abstract artists. This book was truly an eye-opening intellectual experience for me.
