"The Aeneid of Virgil, 35th Anniversary Edition" by Virgil and Barry Moser

Considered to be Virgil’s masterpiece and one of the greatest works written originally in Latin, this epic poem follows the journey of the Trojan hero, Aeneas. The hero is searching for the land that he is destined to build the great Roman empire upon one day. Along the way, Aeneas engages with different kings, queens, and rulers through the Mediterranean, all while under the watchful eye of the gods and goddess of Roman mythology. This book is a necessary foundation for anyone interested in classic literature, as this text has gone on to influence other great Western authors and poets, such as Dante Alighieri.
