"Renaissance Florence" by Gene A. Brucker

So many of you have been asking about a real “nuts and bolts” book about the history of medieval and Renaissance Florence. Well, no one does it better than Gene Brucker. This book is more than 50 years old, but is still a go to for most Renaissance scholars (including myself). But that by no means limits this book to a scholarly reader. Brucker breaks it down such that anyone can understand the social and political structure of this extraordinary city.
