First They Killed My Father, LOUNG UNG
One of the most rewarding professional experiences of my career has been teaching Cambodian students from the Jay Pritzker Academy in Siem Reap, Cambodia. As I learned more about Cambodian history, I also learned about the murderous regime of Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge. This book tells the moving story of an incredibly brave woman who overcame horrific circumstances during this dark period. The smile on her face on the back cover of the book is testimony to the courage, strength and resolve of her great people.
