FREE WEBINAR | “Italy’s Great Monuments: Santa Maria Novella in Florence”
Presented by Dr. Rocky Ruggiero
Join us for this free webinar where we will examine the great Dominican church and convent of Santa Maria Novella in Florence, Italy. From the Gothic-style architecture of the church and convent, to its early Renaissance façade, the great basilica reflects the changing artistic, religious, and social trends of the late medieval world. Containing works by Giotto and Orcagna, and reflecting the patronage of some of Florence’s most important families such as the Strozzi, Rucellai, and Tornabuoni, Santa Maria Novella is one of Europe’s most important medieval churches.
The webinar will include a 45-minute lecture followed by 15-minutes of Q&A.
