FREE WEBINAR | “Italy’s Great Monuments: San Gimignano”
Presented by Dr. Rocky Ruggiero
Known as “the city of beautiful towers”, the Tuscan hill town of San Gimignano boasts 13 preserved medieval tower houses, rising above the picturesque Elsa Valley. The beautiful cathedral of San Gimignano, known as the Collegiata, instead houses one of the most sinister fresco cycles of the Middle Ages. Attributed to a mysterious artist named Barna Da Siena, the frescoes are often used as an example of a “post-Black Death style” of painting. Join Dr. Rocky for this free webinar to discover the medieval magic of San Gimignano.
The webinar will include a 45-minute lecture followed by 15-minutes of Q&A.
