LECTURE TOUR OF THE ITALIAN ART AT THE KIMBELL ART MUSEUM

Join Dr. Rocky Ruggiero for an in-depth analysis of the great Italian Renaissance art treasures in the Kimbell Art Museum collection. We shall examine works dating from the 14th through the 16th centuries by masters such as Michelangelo, Caravaggio, Titian, Duccio, Fra Angelico, Mantegna, and Bellini.

Particular emphasis will be given to Caravaggio’s “Cardsharps” which is one of the few paintings in the United States by the great Baroque master; and Michelangelo’s “Torment of Saint Anthony” which is the only easel painting by Michelangelo outside of Europe.
