Machiavelli’s House Museum, Sant’Andrea in Percussina (San Casciano in Val di Pesa)

Located in Sant’Andrea in Percussina, just outside of Florence, Italy, Machiavelli’s House Museum is where Machiavelli lived during his exile from Florence beginning in 1512. The house, with its detached tavern, known as the “Albergaccio,” is described in one of Machiavelli’s letters where he talks about running the farm during the day and playing cards with the tavern owner and butcher, reading, and writing “The Prince” at night. Buona visita!
