Located in the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, “St. Joseph and the Christ child” was painted in 1640 by one of Italy’s most celebrated painters, Guido Reni. It depicts St. Joseph as a simple man tenderly holding his infant son.  The fruit that the Christ child holds up to St. Joseph is a reminder of his redeeming role from Original Sin. Buona visione!
