Enjoy a morning tour of Pisa where you will visit the Campo dei Miracoli to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the famous pulpits by Nicola Pisano in the Baptistery and Giovanni Pisano in the Cathedral. Stroll pass Pisa’s most important monuments and marvel at the exquisite Tuscan Romanesque architecture that characterizes the piazza.
Depart Pisa for the charming, walled city of Lucca.
Lunch Break – Enjoy local Lucchese cuisine at a traditional restaurant. The lunch will be user-pay.
After lunch, explore Lucca’s many art and architectural treasures. Head to the site of the original Roman amphitheater dating back to the 1st century A.D. Notice how the circular piazza is now defined by private residences, shops and restaurants which utilized the walls of the original amphitheater to create a new urban fabric. Enter the Gothic Cathedral of San Martino and view Jacopo della Quercia’s stunning statue of “Ilaria del Carretto,” and Tintoretto’s “Last Supper.”
