“Michelangelo’s Painting” presents a selection of essays and unpublished lectures by late art historian Leo Steinberg. Steinberg offers a comprehensive analysis of many of Michelangelo’s works, including his “Doni Tondo” (1506); the “Last Judgment” (1536-41); “The Conversion of Saint Paul” (1542-45), and “The Crucifixion of Saint Peter” (1547-49) as well as several of Michelangelo’s paintings from the Sistine Chapel ceiling.
