Andrea del Sarto, Italian painter and draftsman brings an unprecedented realism to Italian painting in the 16th century. This text explores his creativity and ingenuity within his artwork, containing a large number of his drawings and paintings, as well as new studies of his underdrawings in his panel paintings. Another major part of the text is the exploration of the Florentine workshop, as Andrea del Sarto did oversee one of the largest artisan workshops in the Renaissance. This book was published as an exhibition catalog for a show of the same name that was exhibited in both New York and Los Angeles. Though Andrea del Sarto may not be a household name, this book will show how his artistic abilities are influential even through today.
