Kimbell Art Museum “Italian Renaissance Masterpieces” In-Person Lecture Tour with Dr. Rocky
After sold-out lectures at the Metropolitan Museum in New York, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, join Dr. Rocky Ruggiero for a in-person lecture tour of the great Italian Renaissance masterpieces in the Kimbell Art Museum collection in Fort Worth, TX.
We shall examine works from the 14th through the 16th centuries by masters such as Michelangelo, Caravaggio, Titian, Duccio, Fra Angelico, Mantegna, and Bellini.Particular emphasis will be given to Caravaggio’s “Cardsharps” which is one of the few paintings in the United States by the great Baroque master; and Michelangelo’s “Torment of Saint Anthony” which is the only easel painting by Michelangelo outside of Europe.
