Originating in the Po Valley in northern Italy, Grana Padano cheese was invented in the 12th century by the monks of the Chiaravalle Abbey. Its production is similar to Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese but covers a much larger area and has different regulations and controls. Grana Padano has a crumbly texture, is made with partially skimmed unpasteurized cows’ milk, and is absolutely delicious! Buona appetito!
