Villa Borghese English Garden, Rome

While one half of the Villa Borghese Park in Rome is an Italian-style garden, the other half is a true English style garden designed by the great Scottish landscape architect Jacob More. Completed in 1787, it incorporates shady, wandering paths, a free-form artificial lake, and a number of pseudo-classical “ruins,” including a “Temple of Aesculapius.” Buona visita!
