Dating all the way back to the 11th century, the church of Santa Maria della Pieve in Arezzo, Italy, is one of the world’s most beautiful Romanesque churches. The spectacular façade of the church consists of four superimposed logge whose arches get smaller, and number of columns increases as you move up. Known locally as simply “the Pieve,” the church is also home to Pietro Lorenzetti’s beautiful “Tarlati Polyptich” painted in 1320. Buona visita!
