Located on a hill overlooking the Italian city of Vicenza, the Sanctuary of the Madonna of Monte Berico is a Marian shrine originally built in the 15th century in honor of miraculous apparitions of the Virgin Mary to a local peasant worker. The current church was built in the 17th century and is home to Paolo Veronese’s great “Supper of St. Gregory” painted in 1572. Buona visita!
