Peruzzi Chapel (Santa Croce, Florence)

The Peruzzi Chapel is in the Basilica of Santa Croce in Florence, Italy. It contains a series of murals painted by the great painter Giotto probably in the 1320s depicting episodes respectively from the lives of St. John the Baptist and St. John the Evangelist. Although not as famous and well preserved as its neighboring Bardi Chapel, which also contains frescoes by Giotto, the paintings of the Peruzzi Chapel clearly demonstrate the evolution of Giotto’s revolutionary style. Buona visita!
