The Medici Villa at Cafaggiolo is located near the town of Barberino di Mugello north of Florence, Italy. It is one of the oldest estates owned by the Medici family. The current structure was designed by Michelozzo in 1452 by commission of Cosimo “the Elder” de’ Medici to render the original fortified medieval building into a more comfortable hunting retreat. The villa hosted numerous family celebrations and intellectual gatherings during the reign of the 15th-century “Republican Medici.” Buona visita!
