Fontebranda

The Fontebranda is one of Siena’s most important medieval fountains. It was built in the 13th century and is in the Oca (“Goose”) Contrada. The brick structure is a loggia with three large, pointed arches opening onto a massive, vaulted pool which contains water used for both drinking and washing textiles. Buona visita!
