Located in the town of Casamassella in the southern Italian region of Puglia, the Fondazione Le Costantine is a weaving and embroidery laboratory that employs and provides shelter for female victims of violence and abuse. Since 1901, this organization not only works to preserve the artisanal heritage of the Salento region, it also strives for the economic emancipation of women through acquiring skills that can provide them with a livelihood.
