Agrigento

Located in the southern coast of Sicily, Agrigento was founded in 582 BCE by ancient Greek colonists. It rapidly became one of the most important cities of Magna Grecia (“Greater Greece”). Evidence of its glorious Greek past is still visible today at the “Valley of the Temples,” a large archeological park where there are seven monumental Greek Doric-style temples that were built during the 6th and 5th centuries. Buona visita!
