Located above the main door of Florence Cathedral, the Duomo Clock is a giant functional medieval timepiece. It keeps time according to “ora italica” –  a 24-hour system that begins and ends with sunset – with a single hand running counterclockwise. The fresco decoration on the clock was executed by Paolo Uccello in the 15th century.  Buona visione!
