Ok, the historical connection to Renaissance Florence is pretty thin, but I love Rushdie’s writing so much that it was a good excuse to promote the book. It’s poetic prose with a lot of historical license and a hypnotic amount of vivid beautiful fantasy. You too will be enchanted…
