After sold-out lectures at the Metropolitan Museum in New York, the MFA in Boston and the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth TX, join Dr. Rocky Ruggiero for a 90 minute in-depth analysis of the great Italian Renaissance art treasures in the National Gallery of Art collection.
We shall examine works dating from the 14th through the 16th centuries by masters such as Leonardo da Vinci, Botticelli, Raphael, Titian, Duccio, Perugino, Gentile da Fabriano and Andrea del Castagno.
Particular emphasis will be given to the only painting by Leonardo da Vinci in the United States – his 15th-century Portrait of Ginevra de’Benci.
