“Raphael and His Circle” Lecture Tour at the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. by Rocky Ruggiero, Ph.D.
Join Rocky in honoring the 500th anniversary of the death of the great Renaissance painter, Raphael Sanzio, by exploring this extraordinary exhibit of 26 rarely seen prints and drawings by Raphael and his closest collaborators at the NGA. Raphael was the third member of the “Renaissance Holy Trinity,” along with Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo Buonarotti. His sublime skill as a draughtsman and painter would define the academic standards of European painting well into the 19th century.
The National Gallery of Art is the sole American venue for the exhibition.
